Sri Lanka is an island country set in the Indian Ocean of South Asia, and famed as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Sri Lanka has a history dating back to the birth of time and it is a place where the original soul of Buddhism still flourishes and of which nature’s beauty remains abundant and unspoilt. Marco Polo said “Sri Lanka the finest island of its size in the entire world”. The landscapes of Sri Lanka change from flat plains to rugged and forest filled mountains in a few minutes when you are traveling around the country.

For economy, Sri Lanka has transitioned to a market-orientated economy though the central government is still involved in economic planning. And it is a member of Bay of Bengal Initiative for MultiSectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Very few places in the world can offer the tourists such a remarkable combination of stunning landscapes, captivating cultural heritage, pristine beaches and unique experiences within such a compact location. The country is abundantly filled with animals, bird life along with tropical fern and flora of which most are endemic.

Endless beaches, welcoming people, oodles of elephants, timeless ruins, fun trains, cheap prices, rolling surf, famous tea and flavourful food, all these words also don’t enough to describe the wonderful of Sri Lanka.
