Nairobi National Park is Kenya’s oldest national park and a unique ecosystem by being the only protected area close to a capital city in the whole world, it known as “The World’s only wildlife capital”. Tourists can watch animals juxtaposed against Nairobi’s iconic buildings in the horizon. The park is tiny compared with Kenya’s other game parks and reserves, but it never let you down. It’s characteristic is open plains that slope gently from west to east and rocky ridges are covered with rich vegetation. Major wildlife attractions are the Black rhino, cheetah, lion, leopard, hyena, buffaloes, Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elands and diverse birdlife with up to 500 species recorded. Other attractions include the Ivory burning site Monument, Nairobi Safari Walk, the Orphanage and the walking trails at hippo pools. The park terrain is predominantly open grassy plain and there are picnic facilities available.
